Abschied von der Karibik

Heute morgen haben wir Guana Island unsere letzte karibische Insel besucht. Letzte Woche waren wir auf Anegada um den Riesenleguan dort zu sehen, leider hatten wir kein Glück. Nur in der dortigen Aufzuchtstation sahen wir ein paar kleine Leguane. Bei der Internetrecherche stieß ich auf Guana Island, hier sollte die Chance größer sein diese Leguane in freier Wildbahn beobachten zu können.

Also sind wir gestern, nachdem wir die letzten zwei Tage in eier Marina Nähe Spanish Town verbracht hatten, nach Guana Island gesegelt. Heute morgen um sieben haben wir dann unsere letzte Expedition gestartet. Und wirklich, Sabina hat einen der bis zu 1,8 m lang werdenden Leguane entdeckt. Auch zwei Kleine konnten wir dann später noch entdecken. Zufrieden mit dem Ergebniss, sind wir um neun Uhr wieder aufs Schiff zurück. Nach dem Verstauen des Dingis werden wir uns zu den 830 Seemeilen nördlich gelegenen Bermudas aufmachen. Wir rechnen mit mindestens einer Woche Fahrtzeit bis zu unserem nächsten Ziel.
